Keurig k55 review
The Keurig k55 is truly a fantastic single server from the brand that is known for its great functionality in serving you some of the strongest brews. You get a perfect cup at just a touch of a button!
The standout features of this model are that it:
- Can brew come in multiple K-cup pod sizes of 6,8 and 10 oz.
- Comes with 4 K-cup pods and, a water filter handle and 2 additional water filters.
- Features a large 48 oz water reservoir that allows you to make a little over 6 full cups before having to refill the unit.
- Includes descaling facilities.
- Auto-turn off feature shuts down maker after 2 hours of non-use, helping to save energy.
What I did like about the product?
I want to point out in this Keurig k55 review that in my opinion, it is one of the most efficient coffee makers I have personally handled for quenching my thirst for strong brews.
And, since I can’t sum up the functionality of this device up in one word, here are all the things that I admire about it.
The k55 offers you a hassle-free, sweet and swift performance speed with no complication involved whatsoever. It will efficiently brew four 4 K-cup pods ranging anywhere from 6,8 and 10 ounces respectively. Do use the 6 ounces brew size on the unit if you want to have the strongest brew off of it.
This coffee-maker will give you just a little over 6 cups of steaming coffee, before requiring for you to refill the unit. That’s all thanks to its 48 ounces water reservoir that is a bit larger than most other standard coffee maker unit reservoirs.
It indeed saves a lot of time for me in the morning, which is why anybody should get a gadget to begin with. It dispenses filtered hot water at just the turn of the handle and also comes with 2 additional filters, simplifying your coffee-making chore.
2. Design and Quality
The unit is designed to give you comfort with complete functionality. The water tank is removable and exposes ample surface of the interior for you the efficiently clean the whole thing.
One of the things that made me get this one is that it comes with a self-descaling procedure along with a users’ manual. This is an essential part of any coffee-maker that ensures longevity of the shelf-life of the device. It also prevents the taste of your coffee from getting impaired, even ruling out the risk of contamination.
All you have to do is follow the manual for starting up the descaling process of this coffee maker and let it do its job. No worrying or fretting for cleanliness, yet just good coffee for you to enjoy!
The k55 also includes an auto-shutoff feature that switches off the maker if you have not used it within 2 hours. This greatly hacks the electricity bills and helps to save on energy.
I love the sleek design of this coffee maker; it neither takes too much counter-space nor is too heavy to move around. The finish is great, and the overall unit is very user-friendly to work with.
The Keurig k55, like all other models from the brand, is made using only high-quality food-grade materials with standard design specifications. It is a highly durable unit inbuilt with an equally tough finish for lasting performance.
The finish ensures easy cleaning of the device. The unit is shock and chip resistant that won’t crumble under heavy blows. This makes an ideal choice for work purposes as well.
All-in-all it can take a huge amount of pressure in performance as well as wear-and-tear for the most part.
The Keurig k55 is definitely unique in its functionality and especially brewing strong brews. But for me, the winning point of this maker was its self-descaling features and user-friendly approach. The presence of both of these attributes makes it a truly incredible model.
This maker ensures perfectly hot, strong brews down to the very last cup without any complicated steps, along with carrying out period self-cleaning!
What did I not like about it?
The only thing I will say that I am not a fan of about this model is that it may create frequent pressure imbalance in the unit. Due to this, you can end up with coffee grounds in the mug.
Make sure that you do not fill the unit to the brim and leave and keep it a level or so down the maximum ingredient capacity, otherwise the water may overflow into the unit causing it to malfunction.
Keurig K50 review
The Keurig k50, in all honesty, was a thing of utter beauty to me. That’s because unlike conventional coffee makers that will make the usual hot coffee beverages for you, the k50 is designed to give you all of your specialty caffeinated drinks, including hot cocoa and iced beverages!
The key features of this maker are:
- Can brew 6 oz., 8 oz, and 10 oz. sizes.
- Makes tea, coffee, specialty, and iced beverages.
- Comes with a 48 oz. water reservoir, a removable drip tray, and indicator lights
- Entirely programmable unit includes “auto-off” feature
- Comes with a removable water reservoir and drip tray.
What I did like about the feature?
The Keurig k50 has been one of my latest buys that I gifted to my girlfriend some time back. It is one of the sweetest makers that does a grand job of what it claims to do.
It is also one of the most popular from the brand itself that has had an incredible sell-out since it has hit the racks.
And here are all that I liked about it!
The k50 surprisingly performs quite well given the mid-range in the pricing structure of traditional single serving coffee machines. Generally, a maker that dispenses both hot and cold brews could run low on the “efficiency factor” after a point of time. However, we have been using this one for quite some time now and it thankfully still delivers at the pace it had started with.
The k50 brews all standard 6, 8 and 10 ounces, giving an evenly balanced, consistent flavor to the very last sip and right down to the very last cup. Like the k55, this model too comes with a 48 ounces water reservoir that dispenses hot water functionally whenever need be, ensuring quick and easy coffee-making.
This also means that you get to have more than 6 full cups of your favorite brew without having to run to refill the unit frequently.
It comes with an accessible and fairly comprehensible users manual that will guide you through every step to making your favorite hot and cold beverages at just a push of a button!
2. Design and quality
The k50 from Keurig is one of the fewer models from the brand that boasts of exceptional design and interface approach. It has an entirely programmable panel that consists of a timer and temperature controller to ensure superior brewing and flavor extraction for every cup.
The model also comes with an timer enabled auto shut-off feature that switches the entire system off after a set period of time. This helps to save energy and makes it an ideal solution for all who are in the habit of making frequent cups.
With a very user-friendly interface and amazingly compact design, this maker could be efficiently used anywhere, making for an awesome coffee-companion no matter where you are.
The k50, even though looks sleek and compact, scores immensely in durability. The unit is made of premium grade construction material with all the latest upgrades in the overall design to make it look even more attractive.
And more than having an attractive appearance it is made to be entirely shock-proof, owing to an incredible product finish. It is also chip-resistant and anti-corrosive. With a removable reservoir and drip-tray, this coffee-maker could be thoroughly and easily cleaned.
The uniqueness of the Keurig k50 solely lies in its perfection of performance. It does a brilliant job of blending and balancing out the flavors in such a way that not only do you get an even taste in every sip you take, but you also get an ideal caffeine content that is not too high not too less for a beautiful aromatic experience.
And since, it does make our favorite hot cocoa, you needn’t leave the kids out of the party anymore!
With all of the variety of specialties that this one does provide, the k50 is unarguably one of the winning models that Keurig has come up with for good!
What did I not like about it?
Although as I mentioned in this keurig k50 review, the k50 efficiently delivers on all its claims, it does come with its fair share of problems. And it would be only fair that you be informed on what can be a bit tricky to manage while using this particular product.
For starters, the device can get hung up a little if you use it for a long stretch at a time. This was one of the issues that I believe could have been avoided if there was more space inside the unit.
Also, I wish that the k50 came with descaling provisions like the k55. You do have to descale this model entirely manually which can take a bit time and effort.
Yet, apart from the that, the k50 is a marvelous overall coffee-making unit that works like any other heavy duty multipurpose coffee-maker.
Keurig k55 Vs. Keurig k50: the comparison!
And now, it’s time to announce the winner!
Before I do tell you which one I personally found to be slightly ahead in the game, I’d like to state that I can only speak for myself and my experience regarding the use of both of these products. And, in no way do I attempt to imply that one is inferiors to the other in any way whatsoever.
However, if I do have to pick a favorite amongst the two, I’m going to pick the Keurig k50 over the k55., and that is primarily due to the following reason:
Compact design: The k50 is much more compact in design and lighter in weight than the k55 which although can be moved around with a push, can be a bit elaborate to do so frequently.
Performance: Even though the k55 works brilliantly for stronger brews, I feel that the k50 is much more flexible to the temperature adjustments owing to the range of hot and cold specialties it does have to make.
Versatility: And this one needs no explanation as the k50 is one coffee-maker than can make all of your favorite hot and cold beverages, giving you delicious coffee and chocolate specialties in just a matter of minutes!
Therefore, keeping all things in mind, I will choose the Keurig k50 as the clear winner for this game. However, it does not mean that the Keurig k55 is inferior in any way, as it can deliver especially well for espressos and decafs for that matter.
But whatever you choose should fulfill its purpose as well as suit your budget.
And I sincerely hope this Keurig k55 vs Keurig k50 review gave you an insight into the mechanisms of both so that you get best deal possible!
