Experts have revealed how to distinguish counterfeit aka fake coffee

Only few know, but coffee is one of the most counterfeit foods. Lots try to make fake coffee and sell it as natural.

The huge coffee market is a tool for the shadow business. We have already heard about caught tradesmen with counterfeit and non-quality coffee products. Counterfeit coffee is mostly marketed through ad portals, social networks, and markets. Usually, the buyer is lured by a lower than market price. However, purchasing such a coffee is not just a tax on unpaid taxes, but also a huge risk of damaging the coffee machine or even poisoning it. Counterfeit coffee beans are usually packed with the coffee beans that the counterfeiter had at that time, which may be the cheapest coffee on the market, expired, or even utilized by a toaster.

At present, the most sold in Europe are the following counterfeit coffee beans in packs: Lavazza Qualita Rossa, Lavazza Espresso; Lavazza Qalita ORO and Pellini Vivace. Another aspect is trash in coffee. Counterfeiters do not guarantee high packing standards, so you can find lava pebbles, wood twigs or wood splinters in such a coffee. This is one of the causes of automatic coffee machine malfunctions.

Coffee producers are investing heavily each year to make their production as difficult as possible. Periodically replaces coffee packaging designs, uses innovative, quality and expensive technologies for packaging, so they are not bitten by every counterfeiter.

You must remember that even the best coffee makers won’t make a tasty cup of coffee if the coffee is counterfeit. So here are a few simple tips on how to distinguish an original from a potentially counterfeit coffee bean package:

Side bends

* The original packages do not have side bending lines. Coffee makers use automatic packing-packing equipment, packaging is formed during coffee bean pouring. Counterfeiters are pouring packs into already produced, folded packages.

Shape cutting form

* The bottom of the original package is wavy cut. At the manufacturer’s packing center, the packaging is sealed and clipped in the packaging process, using undulating blades at the bottom and flat knives at the top. Counterfeit coffee packs travel already cut and folded in boxes.

Package air valve

* The original package air valve holes are oblong, and fakes are usually limited to needle holes. The original packaging air valve is of high quality and certified, and the counterfeit valve can be simply imitating and not for its own purpose. Unidirectional air valves protect the coffee beans from air and moisture, leaving the coffee fresh and aromatic.

Brightness of the expiration date

* Original packaging expiration dates are bright and clear. The seal is most often spilled in fakes.
